Statement regarding Remembrance Sunday 8th November 2020
Unfortunately this year due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hold the remembrance service at St. Anne’s church or have the memorial service outside the village hall.
Instead there will be a service for the 5 parishes (Fladbury, Wyre Piddle, Lower Moor, Cropthorne and Charlton) held at The Church of St. John the Baptist at Fladbury. During the service the names from each parish memorial cross will be read out, the wreaths will be laid at the altar and there will be a two minute silence. After the service, the parish council chairperson will bring the wreath back to their village and lay it at the respective memorial.
Unfortunately, this service is restricted to 36 people. In attendance at the service will be –
Reverend Sarah Dangerfield;
The parish council chairperson from each parish;
A member of each parish church council;
And 4 parishioners from each village.
As there are only 4 parishioners per village permitted, a ballot will be held and 4 names will be randomly selected to be able to attend. It is felt that this is the fairest way of choosing the 4 people. If you would like to nominate yourself, please respond with your name and a contact number by Monday 26th October to –

Post – drop a note in the door at 8 South View, Main road, Wyre Piddle. WR10 2HZ

For all the parishioners that cannot attend the service, we are hoping that we can find a way to live stream the service, we will send an update on this closer to the time. We would also like to suggest that you put poppies on display in your windows or front gardens and at 11am, join in with a two minute silence stood outside on your driveway or at your front door.
