South Worcestershire Development Plan – Wychavon DC Meeting 21st November- Important News

SWDP – meeting 21st November – important news
The South Worcestershire Development Plan has revealed proposed sites for new housing, employment and retail land. An additional 662 dwellings are proposed for Pershore, including 450 on Defford Road near ancient Tiddesley Wood. In our local villages there are 23 dwellings allocated for land west of Upton Snodsbury Road, Pinvin and 32 dwellings for Blacksmiths Lane, Lower Moor. Also, the site on the Wyre Piddle side of Hurst Farm, Wyre Road, which was turned down at appeal has been allocated for 72 dwellings with another 28 dwellings opposite the second Taylor Wimpey site on Wyre Road. Also there is some suggestion that the removal of the strategic gaps between Pershore, Pinvin and Wyre Piddle might be considered. Views are being sought to help shape the future growth of South Worcestershire into the middle of this century. A public consultation is being launched on Monday, 5 November on the review of the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP), with a view to build three major new settlements across South Worcestershire. This will help Malvern Hills District, Worcester City and Wychavon District Councils decide how to best accommodate housing and employment growth in the area to 2041. Two councilors from Wyre Piddle will attend a briefing for Parish Councils on November 6th. A series of road shows are being held to provide people with more information and gather views. The nearest to us is on Wednesday 21 Nov. at the Town Hall, Pershore from 2pm to 8pm. Please attend and make your views known. Full details of the Plan are available at www.swdevelopmentplan.org.
